Free photo clipping mask

So we are on day 4 of Jessica Spraque's free photo editing class. Today she is explaining how to use a photo clipping mask. I gave a clipping mask away a while back, but while making the first one I had made 4 different versions. Here is an example of #2.

I just love clipping mask. I always tend to add a small bevel to mine, changing my bevel to size 1.
If I have a paper or light background, I will also add a slight drop shadow. Together they tend to add a nice effect. So for your download pleasure... I give you my second mask. Have Fun!!

Kim, thanks for the download. I found you on the JS class forums. Love your blog, I'm def bookmarking it. By the way, I see you're from Lafayette! I'm originally from the Baton Rouge area but moved up north a few years ago. I miss it lots, but I hear it's been really hot and dry down there.

Found your blog on JS forums. Wow!! I'm amazed by your stuff. I will have to spend a lot of time here reading your archives. You have shared so much! I have a quick question, though. I saw a post about downloading textures from a flickr site. I'm not that computer savvy. Do you have to download the textures one photo at a time? Or is there a way to do all of them at once into a folder? Thanks! I appreciate all you have shared.

Janna.... yes you have to do them one at a time. Download the ones you like to your desktop. Then create a new folder for your textures. Open it and drag your downloaded textures in the folder.

Remember to leave him a thank you. =)

i am a total rookie at all this stuff. but i love your site. i have one question on this mask though. when i downloaded it, it was a white mask instead of black. how do i make it black, or am i beyond help at this point?

krista.... it should be black?
but the color of a mask does not matter because you are clipping it to your image, it becomes the color of you image. Does that make sense? The color you have under it will be your extra color. Scroll down to my first mask post, I have a screen shot.

Michelle, yes the first mask has expired. I love sharing with my subscribers but when the freebie sites find me and start sending the entire internet over, I take down the link. Normally I will leave a freebie link up for 24 hours. I am leaving the mask link up a little longer and the link to the pink papers are still active. Hopefully you subscribed so you don't miss anything in the future. :)

When I tried using it, the edge is white though. I'd love for it to looks black like your water lily photo. Is that like an optional thing to change?

If you have a rar. folder that you need to unzip. You can download a free trial of winRAR here. CNet has a very good record of safe downloads. It is a 40 day free trial. I downloaded it a couple of days ago and it worked great. When your 40 days are up, you can uninstall it from your computer and be back to normal. Next... If you come to a texture that is just an image such as the Antique1 texture. Right click and copy it. This will copy the image to your computers clipboard. Open CS or Elements. Hit Ctrl N for a new document. Your computer will remember the copied size and make a new document to fit it. Once your new blank document is opened. Let's talk about using a photo mask. The coolest thing about this is, you can resize it any size you want. Start at the bottom. You will have your background paper. I have included the one shown. Then you will have your mask layer. (also included) Top will be your image. You will need to group your image to your mask. This can be done a number of ways. Let's talk about a couple. You can highlight your top image layer. Go to layer, create clipping mask. In Elements, it is Layer, group with previous. Or you can hold down your Alt key and click on the line separating the two layer and it will clip it together for you. Make your image the size you want it to be. Now go down and highlight the mask layer. Use Ctrl T to free- transfom. You can rotate it, you can make it wide
