Click on any image for a bigger view. I should say... Kristen in a Chocolate filter. lol! I think we may have touched on this before but lets touch on it again. Chocolate filters are all the rage! You can make your own. new layer above your image. here is the hex code for the brown I like to use. 3f2co2 fill blank layer with brown. change your blend mode to soft light. reduce the opacity until you like the effect. Done! :) This can also be used on color images. Interesting results. I do hope you give it a try. Happy Weekend ~kimi~

Learn, Non Destructive Editing

Click on any image for a bigger view. Hi Everyone... A week or so I gave away a nice cream colored scrap paper. Today we will go over how to give the same paper a grungy feel without ever touching the paper. Above is the grungy copy I made. To compare with the freebie, scroll down below. You get a better feel, if you click on the larger image . Create a new blank layer above you paper. Go to Edit, Fill and choose 50% gray from the drop down menu. Change the blend mode on your gray layer to Overlay. Working on just your Gray layer. Select your burn tool. 24% opacity, set to midtones. Load a set of grunge brushes. Pick a few different ones. Make sure you run along the edges and corners and then try different ones in the middle. You can change the look, without every touching your paper. Now save your new grungy paper!! :) I do this all of the time. I do hope you give it a try on some of your scrap papers and let me know what you think? Here is a link to Brusheezy.com Free grunge brushes...

Click any image for a bigger view. We have a flower show here this weekend. They are doing something different this year and also judging flower images. I had 3 images to enter and was a day late contacting the correct person. (sigh) So... I thought I would show my favorite one here. I was interested in what they would think of my Art. :) What do you think? I am going to have this one printed on canvas and hang it in my home. I Love It!!! ~kimi~ Edit: This was done following the directions from an earlier post called Overlay Art.
